Jonathan Datz

Jonathan fundamentally believes that family disputes are best handled outside of the courtroom. When parties can reach agreements without using the courts, it is almost always best. Jonathan deeply believes that people should have ownership over their family’s future, and courts should always be viewed as a last resort. Regardless of how entrenched parties’ disagreements may be, Jonathan remains optimistic and solution-oriented in the search for common ground.

He has practiced family law in Colorado since 2013, with a specific focus on the intersection of family law and criminal law. Beginning in 2001, Jonathan served as a prosecutor in Miami, Florida and then in multiple Metro Denver Area counties.

He also specialized in prosecuting crimes of domestic violence and child abuse, and on the flip side, Jonathan has now spent over a decade defending people charged of serious crimes, including domestic violence and child abuse. In short, Jonathan is deeply experienced with the multiple layers and sides of domestic disagreements and conflicts.

Jonathan has nearly two and a half decades of experience in resolving the most complicated legal conflicts. Throughout his career, he has represented Husbands, Wives, Mothers, Fathers, Grandparents, Children, Crime Victims, and Criminal Defendants.
