Divorce Resolutions recently had the pleasure of sponsoring the first Virtual Annual Advanced Family Law Conference presented by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML). AAML members look forward to this event every year. However, the current landscape challenged the event hosts to provide the same quality experience online this year, which was a great success.
The day was hosted by Cynthia Ciancio, Esq. of Ciancio Ciancio Brown, and mediator with Divorce Resolutions, Colorado Center for Divorce Mediation. The goal of the day was to promote advanced educational opportunities for attorneys, mediators, and those practicing alternative forms of dispute resolution (ADR) to handle contemporary family matters.
This year’s training sessions covered a variety of topics related to the current environment.
- Virtual alternative dispute resolution
- Understanding reports from psychologists
- Bankruptcy’s effect on domestic relationships, as related to the pandemic
- Presenting a sound complex financial case over the internet
- Client/therapist privacy privileges
- Ethical challenges in family law
Continued learning and the use of technology is valuable to clients
