Disclaimer, Scope of Our Work as Mediators

Divorce Mediation

Mediation is not the practice of law. As detailed in this website, Divorce Resolutions®, LLC, Colorado Center for Divorce Mediation™, and our mediators (Lawrence F. King, J.D., and Christopher L. Griffith, J.D., M.S.) do not serve as either party’s attorney (or as both parties’ attorney). No attorney-client relationship is created in our work with either of the mediating parties.

We use the phrase “attorney-mediator” (as is the convention among alternative dispute resolution professionals) to reflect that we are mediators with law training and substantial experience as former practicing family law and divorce attorneys. Although we are Colorado attorneys licensed to practice law, we do not practice law, but limit our services exclusively to mediation.

Divorce & Related Information, Not Advice

We present the Colorado divorce law, tax information, mediation and parenting resource materials on this web site for general information purposes only, as a service to our clients and other Internet visitors. We update and revise our site's information frequently, but we do not promise that its content is accurate or always current. As you may imagine, family and divorce law, tax regulations, dispute resolution practices and parenting research are often complex and change — sometimes rapidly!

Although much of this information is about legal issues (divorce is, of course, a purely legal construct), it may not apply to your unique family and individual circumstances, and is not a substitute for independent advice from a Colorado divorce or family law attorney, or matrimonial accountant or other tax advisor. Similarly, special parenting concerns may require assessment with a mental health professional. Accordingly, we are not responsible for any damages or consequences occasioned by your relying on these materials.

Privacy Policy

Our policy is simple. We respect your privacy absolutely. Personal information you share with us, to allow us to contact you, will:

  • never be used by us for any other purpose; and

  • never be released to any third party for any purpose.

“Thanks for making it such ‘smooth sailing’ for my former wife and I — in the difficult time of our divorce. The Judge said he wished all [non-mediator] lawyers appearing before him could be as complete and thorough with their documents and drafting, as was the Agreement we mediated with your assistance!”
- D.M.
